Question: Do angels still come on earth as humans from time to time but we dont know it?

Answer:

All praise is due to Allah.

It is known that during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad, may peace and Allah’s blessings be upon him, angel Jibreel came to the Messenger of Allah in the form of a man wearing white clothing with no signs of dust upon him. We also find narrations amongst the Sahaba of angels fighting alongside with them in the battle field.

And we find some narrations amongst the early generations that mention righteous people who were saved from harm, sometimes by a horseman wearing all white clothes that came out of the darkness of night to slay their enemy and disappeared after soon afterwards.

And we hear mention of similar narrations today, and although we have no way of verifying the authenticity of these reports, one tends to believe them as they are consistent in their descriptions and circumstances.

And Allah knows best.

Question:

In the lectures you mentioned that Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) gave a divorce to once of his wives. Could you mention the hadith that confirms that.

Answer:

All praise is due to Allah.

Thank you for your question. There were at least two occasions when that took place. Here are the relevant narrations:

1.) From Saheeh al-Bukhari:

On the authority of ‘Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, (‘Amrah) bint al-Jawn was entered upon the Prophet, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, and he approached her (for the consummation of marriage). She said, “I seek refuge in Allah from you.”

So the Prophet, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, said “You have sought refuge in the Mighty One. Go to your family.”

And in another narration, he said, “You have sought refuge in the Grantor of refuge,” so he divorced her, and commanded Usama or Anas to give her (as a gift) three Raziqiyya dresses.

It is said that ‘Amrah was young and naive, and some of the wives of the Prophet, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, tricked her by telling her that if she said those words, the Prophet would like it. Due to the noble character of the Prophet, he answered her wish.

2.) From Sunan al-Bayhaqi and Ahmad:

السنن الكبرى للبيهقي – ج 7 / ص 214
عبد الله بن عمر قال تزوج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم امرأة من بنى غفار فلما ادخلت رأى بكشحها وضحا فردها إلى اهلها وقال دلستم على

Abdullah bin ‘Umar narrated that, “The Prophet (may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) married a woman from the Bani Ghifar tribe. When she was entered upon him, he found on her back a white area (from a disease). He sent her back to her family, and said, “You concealed this from me.”

And in a narration, “He did not take anything back from her (gifts or mahr.)”

And Allah knows best.

Question:

Is there anything wrong with saying that Abu Talib died as a non-Muslim?

Answer:

No, the Prophet alayhi salam himself mentioned that
Abu Talib will be in the least level of the hell-fire,
and even this would cause the brains to boil,
and if it was not for the Prophet’s intercession,
he would have been in the deepest part of the fire,
as is narrated in Bukhari.

Allah knows best.

Question:

I heard from some preachers that the age of Khadija when she got married to
our Prophet (saw) mentioned differently in the classical books of seerah.
Also it is said that only one of those mentions that she was 40, but other
give different ages even 28 or 29. Could you please give me any name of
those books? I heard that Ibn Ishaq in his seerah mentions this, but the
translation I found online says Muhammad married Khadija, who was some
fifteen years older than he.

Answer:

The most authentic narrations state that the Prophet alayhi as salam
was 25 and Khadija was 40 when they were married. There are some weak narrations that say she was younger.

As for Ibn Ishaaq’ seerah, it is known to have many weak narrations. Ibn Hisham pointed out some of these weak narrations.

Perhaps you can refer to Ibn Hisham’s Seerah for more details on this issue.

And Allah knows best.
